It was important to use a wide variety of shades of blue and purple within the cool bed. Look at the contrast between the bold blue of the Delphinium and the delicate pale blue of the Agapanthus. At the top of the photo you can just see a flower spike of the deep blue/purple of Buddleia Palace Purple.
